Araperique

Buena Vista Araperique Cigars

Araperique is a rare and extremely rarely processed tobacco. From the special planting to the intensive care and special processing, this tobacco requires every skill.

The name Araperique is composed of Arapiraca and Perique.

The ripening technique "Method Perique" comes from the Choctaw Indians who made Araperique from the Arapiraca raw tobacco. The tobacco is harvested leaf by leaf and stripped by hand after the drying process. It is then matured in oak whiskey barrels under high pressure for at least a year. During this time, the tobacco must be turned over several times by hand to ensure even fermentation.
