Dark Fired Kentucky

Buena Vista Dark Fired Kentucky Cigars

The tobacco is harvested when fully ripe, when the first golden yellow colors are visible. The leaves are then air-dried until they shine a rich golden yellow. A second drying process follows.

In a special smoke drying process, called Dark Fired Smoke Cured, the tobacco hangs in smokehouses, so-called Barnes, over smoldering oak and hickory wood. This is how the unique roasted and smoke aromas are absorbed. This process originated in the centuries-old tradition of Kentucky farmers.
