The Cuban emigrant Simon Camacho, founder and namesake of the brand, laid the foundation stone for the company in Miami in 1961. In the mid-nineties, the brand's cigars were produced in Honduras, now owned by the Eiroa family. In 2008, Oettinger Imex AG (Davidoff) bought the brand rights from the Eiroas.
