The foundation stone of Savinelly was placed in the year 1876 when Achille Savinelli opened a store in Milan. On a fair in the year 1881 he presented his first pipes in his own name , that he had designed and had made for him specifically. 1948 he first started a family and then his own factory in Molina di Barasso. Today Savinelli employs 35 people, that made 70.000 pipes annually. Even though with this numbers Savinelli is one of the largest manufacturers in the world, their pipes show the perfect workmanship, on which their legendary reputation is build. Some process step are done by machine, yet most of the work is still done by hand, which needs exceptional skill and experience. Whilst many pipe producing companies went over to outsource some production stages, some even their whole production, Savinelli makes sure that every step is done in their own four walls. Only like this Savinelli, that is now in the fifth generation of the family, keeps the optimal control over their quality, which is so loved by a large community.
