Since 1990, exceptional pipe tobaccos have been produced in a historic, over 100-year-old malt house on the Elbe hillside in Lauenburg.
As a manufactory, DTM Dan Tobacco fills the gap left by industrial mass production: Here, rare tobacco specialties and natural blends are preserved.
Exquisite flakes and blends mature here by hand, using restored, traditional technology, such as venerable tobacco presses of English origin.
The well-stocked raw tobacco warehouse provides the foundation for quality that improves with time. From leaf preparation to packaging, each batch (50 to 400 kg) is handled with passion and expertise.
Behind the idea of Caro Mio ("Caramello") is the longing for the sweet temptations of Italy in the form of Panna Cotta or Creme Caramel. For an intense aroma, the blend consists mainly of Black Cavendish, which is only supplemented by a small proportion of ready-rubbed Virginia Flake.
In addition, a creamy toffee-caramel aroma to melt away.

Die Tabakbeschreibung allein reichte für mich aus, diese "süße italienische Verführung", - die wunderbare Beschreibung hier im Pfeifen-Shop darf wortwörtlich verstanden werden - um ihn einmal zu probieren. Der Tabak duftet einfach köstlich und lässt sich genüsslich bis zum Pfeifenkopfboden rauchen. Die feinen karamellig-cremig-vanilligen Noten bleiben bis in das letzte Drittel nahezu erhalten und gehen langsam in schokoladige und Toffeearomen über. Langsam und bewusst geraucht - ein Genuss.
