By the time of their birth, the brothers Friedrich and Heinrich Kapp from Nuremburg, who's elegant tobacco shop in the 1865 opened on Grafton Street in Dublin, never dreamt that they would become part of a legend.
Friedrich & Heinrich, who called their business “Kapp Brothers” quickly build up a reputation for their self made and sold high quality meerschaum and briar pipes. It wasn't long before Charles Peterson stepped into their shop – with a revolutionary pipe and ambitious plans for the future to come.
It was that day, he proposed a partnership with the brothers to make his dream of this pipe come true.
They came to an agreement and the company's name was changed to Kapp & Peterson. Kapp and Peterson were on a straight path to become Dublin's trendiest and most renowned manufacturer and supplier of fine tobacco products. Pipe smokers as cigar smokers alike went onto their premises for a professional consultation about fine nuances in a well made cigar or pipe. The brand Peterson became highly regarded by politicians, companies, athletes, artist and authors from all walks of life.
This Pipe from the Sherlock Holmes line has got a wonderful rustication. The classic Bulldog shape nestles nicely in one's hand and figuratively takes one back to the good old times of Sherlock Holmes.

Sehr schöne Pfeife, leichte Abzüge für das Mundstück
Wichtig ist erstmal,dass ich hier als Pfeifensammler und nicht als Pfeifenraucher schreibe. Die Peterson Sherlock Holmes Hudson Rustic kann vor allem durch einen grandios verarbeiteten Pfeifenkopf Punkten! Die Kopfbohrung und auch die Bohrung des Zuglochs sind schön mittig. Allgemein ist die Holzqualität sehr gut, wenngleich die Rustifizierung natürlich auch das ein oder andere Manko gegebenenfalls überdeckt. Ich konnte keine Mängel am Holz feststellen! Das Mundstück ist wenn es korrekt anliegt exakt passend. Allerdings beim drehen sieht man schnell, dass es nicht symmetrisch ist. Auch die 9mm Filterkammer ist etwas zu groß. Das sind aber nur zwei ganz kleines Mankos die meiner Meinung nach auch nicht sonderlich ins Gewicht fallen. Das Zugloch ist ordentlich, es hat keine Engstellen. Alles in allem eine solide und schön verarbeitete Pfeife die gut in der Hand liegt und welche ich jedem empfehlen kann!
