Rattray's looks back on a long history. It was in 1911 when Charles Rattray, a trained pipe tobacco blender, fulfilled his dream of owning his own pipe shop in Perth, Scotland. Today, the brand with Celtic roots is known for its pipes bearing the Triskele logo and pipe tobaccos, mostly made with traditional Scottish blends.
The Coloss is a massive Giant with a classic look. The metal ring on the stem bears Rattray's Triskele logo.
The G version features a German-made graphite insert in the bowl. The insert is fireproof, heats up slowly, and cools down slowly. Minimal moisture buildup. Furthermore, it is flavorless and easy to clean. The buildup of a charcoal crust is therefore neither possible nor necessary. You can also change tobacco repeatedly without worrying about ghosting (flavor transfer to the next filling).
