Rattray's looks back on a long history. It was in 1911 when Charles Rattray, a trained pipe tobacco blender, fulfilled his dream of owning his own pipe shop in Perth, Scotland. Today, the brand with Celtic roots is known for its pipes bearing the Triskele logo and pipe tobaccos, mostly made with traditional Scottish blends.
Whether this pipe can become a pipe smoker's sanctuary remains to be seen. It definitely has what it takes to become an absolute classic. The two metal applications result in a very nice look that is reminiscent of an army spigot mouthpiece. Nevertheless, the Sanctuary has a comfortable filter tenon for 9mm filters.
The special feature is the graphite insert. This is fireproof, tasteless, and produces little moisture. It also heats up and cools down slowly.
This not only provides greater safety and comfort, but also allows you to try different tobacco varieties one after the other – without the usual resting time for the pipe.
The pipe itself is made of Central American ash wood.
