Planning for our own pipe tobacco has been underway for several months. Contacts were established with Kohlhase & Kopp back in the summer of 2016. Among other things, this traditional family business produces Rattray's & Vauen pipe tobaccos. Our ELDURIS pipe tobaccos also come from the experienced hands of Kohlhase & Kopp.
But why the name ELDURIS? With our own pipe tobaccos, we are exploring the theme of ‘Norse mythology’. In these myths from pre-Christian Scandinavia, the world tree Yggdrasil plays a central role. It was created from the primordial giant Ymir, who in turn was created from fire and ice. In Icelandic, fire = Eldur and ice = Is – together ELDURIS. The world tree is the logo of the ELDURIS brand.
So our pipe tobacco was born. With a name and appearance. Now all that was missing was the content. The first three varieties were developed through careful tasting using clay pipes.
Our first varieties take you into the three most important worlds of Norse mythology.

ELDURIS Asgard
Asgard is the world of the gods. The Aesir, Vanir and Elves find their home here. Valhalla is also located in Asgard.
The archway is the entrance to the world of the gods.
ELDURIS Asgard pipe tobacco is a divine blend of Virginia, Burley, spicy Turkish Oriental and a touch of Latakia. Asgard exudes the beguiling aroma of nutty Burley on a delicately smoky base. When smoked, the sweetness of Virginia emerges with a slight spiciness. The experience is rounded off with a smoky background.

ELDURIS Midgard
Midgard is the world of humans. The Middle World represents a peaceful world under the protection of the gods. Accordingly, we can expect a gentle companion in the form of pipe tobacco. The aroma is nutty and aromatic. When smoked, a nutty, straw-like combination of Burley and Virginia unfolds. ELDURIS Utgard
Utgard is the world of giants and trolls. The pipe tobacco associated with it is as dark as the creatures of Utgard. A black tobacco blend with a strongly smoky aroma is the result of a high Latakia content. Nevertheless, there are also mild and sweet notes behind the smoke. Once lit, it presents itself as a full-bodied tobacco with plenty of smokiness and spice, even a certain peppery note. Lots of Latakia, Virginia, Kentucky, Black Cavendish and Perique combine to create an excellent and profound blend for ELDURIS Utgard.
Drinking horns are the symbol of giants and trolls, who enjoy drinking and celebrating extensively.
