InterTabac 2017
From September 22nd to 24th, 2017, the industry gathered once again in Dortmund for the largest trade fair, InterTabac. Every year, the latest innovations are presented to industry professionals at this event. And this year, there were several noteworthy developments.
In the tobacco section, the winter and Christmas tobaccos awaited us:
- Kohlhase & Kopp Winter Time with the scent of rum plum, vanilla, and cherry
- Rattray's Winter Time with Creme Catalan, vanilla, and nut
- Peterson Christmas Blend with fragrant berries, vanilla, and a hint of Amaretto
Following the success of Kohlhase & Kopp's annual Africa edition, the successor, "Edition II: Asia," was introduced. With its aromatic flavors of papaya, dragon fruit, and lemongrass, this tobacco transports us to a dreamy Asian world.
Planta also opted for a global perspective. With its New York theme, the Planta Anno 2018 blend captures the flavors of the Big Apple – apple and wild berries. This year, without Burley, the Anno 2018 is definitely worth a try.
At the MacBaren booth, we were surprised by an old friend. St. Bruno pipe tobacco, long unavailable in Germany, has returned to store shelves as flake tobacco. We are especially pleased to see this classic here.
There were many new products to discover at the Vauen booth. Several series with creative ideas for pipe making impressed us. The Nut, Scandic, Stand Up, Lime, Curve, Medwakh, and some new Natura blends with Cumberland mouthpieces are sure to delight you as much as they did us. Another Auenland tobacco has also joined the existing lineup. Auenland Midnight has a wonderful peach cream aroma.
Peterson released their Christmas and St. Patrick's Day pipes, as they do every year. We were particularly taken with the Christmas pipe with its light-colored mouthpiece. The St. Patrick's Day pipe for 2018 is green with a yellow mouthpiece.
We also brought back a few surprises from Stanwell and Poul Winslow. These will be available in the shop in the next few days!
