Then a piece of wood came to mind. Not just any wood, but a real, unique specimen from the forest.

On a cool autumn day, out walking with my dog and pipe, I was on the lookout for the candidates during my stroll through the woods. Right next to a tree, I found it among other moldy pieces of bark: our piece of wood.

It has served faithfully since the shop's inception. Initially, it consisted only of a compact camera, a white cloth, the piece of wood, and the whistles. Later, it was supplemented with a light tent, and today it includes a photo table, surrounding photo lights, and a camera used exclusively for showcasing the products. The piece of wood even survived a move. Over time, it has become a small symbol of the shop.

Last Saturday evening, dramatic events unfolded: A hand reached for a file folder. The wooden piece was supposedly safely on the shelf.

It wobbled in slow motion, it tipped over... and fell. Directly onto the photo table below.

Oh dear! A long-standing fixture of the pipe shop, badly damaged.

We will find a new piece of wood to worthyly replace it.
