The Tsuge pipes can look back on a long history. The pipe maker Kyoichiro Tsuge founded his buiseness in 1936. Interrupted by the Second World War, he continued his production in 1945. Over the decades and with a lot of engagement Tsuge became one of the most renowned pipe manufactories with its Japanese charm and highest quality. Today their company headquarters is located in Tokyo.
The idea behind the Derringer is to create a compact churchwarden pipe. On its long journey through the pipe, the smoke can cool and dry well, resulting in a noticeably improved smoking experience.
With the Derringer, the smoke starts from the tobacco chamber through the lower shank. A 9mm filter can optionally be inserted there. The smoke then flows between the two shanks towards the pipe bowl and then through the upper shank to the stem. A 9mm filter can also be inserted in the mouthpiece.
The two available filters further dry the smoke and reduce harmful substances.
For easier cleaning, there is a plug at the end of the lower shank.
