The brazilian Alonso Menendez No. 40 is a Petit Corona format with a black Mata Fina wrapper.
more product details
Alonso Menendez, founder of the two Cuban brands "Montecristo" and "H. Upmann," achieved international renown. His son, Felix Menendez, established the Menendez-Amerino tobacco plantations in Brazil, near Salvador, in the 1960s.
These Brazilian, handmade cigars with a black Mata Fina wrapper offer a unique, balanced aroma and medium strength. Since all the tobaccos used are sourced from Brazil, they are puros. Due to the climatic conditions and soil composition, there is no comparable alternative from the Caribbean.
Alonso Menendez cigars are hand-rolled long-filler cigars. The tobacco used all comes from Brazil, making them so-called puros. The dark, almost black wrapper comes from the Mata Fina growing region. The cigars are produced at the Tabacalera Menendez-Amerino in São Gonçalo dos Campos, a region with ideal conditions for tobacco cultivation. The voluminous formats exhibit hearty earthy base notes accompanied by delicate creaminess and notes of coffee, wood, nut, and chocolate.
