Arturo Fuente founded the "A. Fuente & Co" factory in West Tampa, Florida in 1912. Cigars were successfully rolled by hand there fot twelve years. After a fire the production had stopped. The years passed away and the trained Baker took up the cigar craft again. The family business got off to a slow start but was able to establish locally. So the restart was succsessful an in 1958 the youngest son, Carlos Fouente, bought the business from his father for one dollar. The factory burned down again in 1979 during the Nicaraguan Revolution. In Santiago, in the Dominican Republic, the third attempt should be successful. The Fuente brand is now run by Carlos Fuente Senior and his son Carlos Fuente Junior.
The Grand Corona has a medium strength and mild flavour with harmonious notes of earth, coffee and spices. Over the course of the approximately one-hour smoke, the profile expands to include notes of cinnamon, ginger and mint. The Dominican, hand-crafted long filler is the strongest cigar in the otherwise mild Classic line, but this does not mean that it should be categorised as strong.
