William “Ashton” Taylor's pipe career began in the young age of 15 as an apprentice in the famous company of Dunhill, London. After years of learning the secrets of pipe making from the masters of Dunhill, he founded the company of Ashton in the 80s and named it after him. The Style of his pipes is classic, British and elegant. Stunning are not only the beauty his pipes, but the inner values as well. Thanks to a special treatment of the briar, the so called oil-curing, Ashton pipes taste especially well. The stem was made of a material that has got the great soft bite-properties of Ebonite, but still has got the easy maintenance of acrylic. Because this material is quite unique, the smokers gave it the name “Ashtonite” . Both the oil-curing and the Ashtonite are secrets of the company of Ashton to this day.
The traditions, techniques and abilities have been handed down by Ashton himself to William Taylor and Jimmy Craig, who contiued his legacy after Ashton's death in 2009.
A strong and spicy mixture with a full and upscale nature. Mainly consisting of Latakia, this blend is completed with a little bit of Virginia, fire cured Kentucky, Black Cavendish and Perique.

Ich erhielt die Tabakdose gestern. Selten bin ich von einem Produkt schneller überzeugt worden. Zwei Pfeifen sind genug gewesen… Es handelt sich um die beste englische Mischung, die ich bisher zu rauchen Gelegenheit hatte. Es ist runder, konsistenter und schmackhafter als the night cup.

Er läst sich angenehm rauchen .Kräftig und leicht herb im Geschmack.Hat einen guten aber nicht genau erkennbaren Raumduft.

was fuer eine dunkle seele der englischen tradition. kräftig, aber gleichmässig im brand, mit einer angenehmen, unerwarteten suesse. ist mit sicherheit ein guter einstieg fuer newcomer bei den britischen mixturen. die punkte zum raumaroma sind absolut richtig, ein 5er. nun, die aussagen meiner umwelt variieren etwas: die direkt ekonomisch abhängigen finden den duft toll, die glaubenden autarken eher nicht ( aber surströmming essen, va')
