more product details
Founded in 1825, the traditional company Chapuis Comoy is the oldest existing pipe manufacturer in the world. Nestled in the mountainous and rugged landscape of the French Jura lies the pipe-making mecca of Saint-Claude, where pipes were first crafted from the burl wood of the Erica arborea, better known as briar.
The company's owner, Antoine Grenard, is a trained industrial designer and a direct descendant of the founding Comoy family, who also established a branch in London (Comoy of London). In addition to a wide variety of wonderful antique models, the product range also includes modern creations.
With a spigot, the metal-encased mouthpiece is plugged directly into the bowl of the pipe. A conical shape makes it possible and always guarantees a good fit of the mouthpiece. A spigot is one of the classics in the pipe world.
