more product details
The Colibri story began in 1928 in Frankfurt with the invention of the first semi-automatic lighter by Julius Lowenthal. After relocating to London, the legendary "Monopol," the world's first fully automatic system, followed in 1935. During World War II, Colibri proved its reliability under extreme conditions with the robust "Stormgard" lighter for soldiers.
In the following years, under Jack Lowenthal, son of Julius Lowenthal, the company revolutionized the industry with the first refillable gas tank (1958) and the piezoelectric ignition (1962). The brand achieved worldwide fame in 1974 with the "golden pistol" in the James Bond classic *The Man with the Golden Gun*. Today, under the leadership of the third generation, Colibri stands for modern design and precision engineering – from multi-jet lighters to high-quality cutters for discerning aficionados.
The double blade cutter from Colibri has a non-slip, rubberized coating and a release in matt black. The ergonomically shaped handles of the cutter are made of reddish brown wood. The stainless steel blades are silicone-coated, which prevents tobacco residue from sticking, and measure a cut of 22 millimeters.
