Since 1990, exceptional pipe tobaccos have been produced in a historic, over 100-year-old malt house on the Elbe hillside in Lauenburg.
As a manufactory, DTM Dan Tobacco fills the gap left by industrial mass production: Here, rare tobacco specialties and natural blends are preserved.
Exquisite flakes and blends mature here by hand, using restored, traditional technology, such as venerable tobacco presses of English origin.
The well-stocked raw tobacco warehouse provides the foundation for quality that improves with time. From leaf preparation to packaging, each batch (50 to 400 kg) is handled with passion and expertise.
The Golden Navy Cut Flake is a typical old school traditional flake. Smooth and sweet Virginias were prepared in the press and aged to maturity under less pressure.
The result is an easy-to-smoke flake with the typical hints of figs and plums.

Die Dose habe ich noch, sie ist noch gut gefüllt. Von den "typischen Anklängen von Feige und Pflaume" laut Beschreibung habe ich nichts mitbekommen. Das mag sicher an mir liegen, vielleicht auch an den viel zu zarten "Anklängen". Papier ist geduldig, ich bin es auch. Der Tabak bleibt also weiter liegen. Ein maximal (!) durchschnittlicher Virginiaflake ohne Geschmackserlebnis für mich.
