Since 1990, exceptional pipe tobaccos have been produced in a historic, over 100-year-old malt house on the Elbe hillside in Lauenburg.
As a manufactory, DTM Dan Tobacco fills the gap left by industrial mass production: Here, rare tobacco specialties and natural blends are preserved.
Exquisite flakes and blends mature here by hand, using restored, traditional technology, such as venerable tobacco presses of English origin.
The well-stocked raw tobacco warehouse provides the foundation for quality that improves with time. From leaf preparation to packaging, each batch (50 to 400 kg) is handled with passion and expertise.
The Alter Friese - formerly Frische Brise - consists mainly of light and medium brown Virginias. There is also a hint of Latakia that stays in the background.
Following the example of old Irish tobaccos, a spicy aromatization was added, but much more subtle and therefore fresher!

Optimal für Latakia Einsteiger
Ein ganz hervorragender Tabak mit einer angenehmen Süße und einer dezenten Latakia Note, die angenehm im Hintergrund bleibt. Lässt sich problemlos kühl umd bis zum Ende durchrauchen. Die Raumnote ist würzig, süß, leicht rauchig, aber nicht aufdringlich, die Tischnachbarn hauen nicht gleich ab, wenn man ihn genießt. Ich rauche ihm bevorzugt aus größeren Köpfen und möchte den Tabak, naturnahen Pfeifenfreunden ans Herz legen, die den Einstieg in die Latakia Welt wagen möchten. Ach so, Konditionierung im Anlieferumgszustand top, wie immer bei DTM Tabaken.
