As a young man, Zino Davidoff, born in Ukraine, moved to Switzerland with his family. In Geneva, surrounded by the scent of fine tobaccos in his parents' shop, his passion was ignited. He was curious, wanted to know more, traveled to South America, learned from the best and returned with a wealth of knowledge.
Zino began to create his own cigar blends and his name soon became synonymous with quality. In the 1960s, when the world was slowly getting a taste for it, he launched his own Davidoff cigars. It was as if he was making a promise: only the best is good enough.
Even when he sold his company to Oettinger in 1970, Zino remained the heart and soul of Davidoff. He traveled, told stories, inspired. And so it remains to this day: Davidoff is more than a brand, it is a promise to all those who are looking for something special.

Ten years after the last release, Davidoff expands the legendary Black Band Collection with the Puro Dominicano. This 100% Dominican puro blend combines the intensity associated with the black band with Davidoff’s signature elegance.
To create it, master blenders utilize exquisite tobaccos from six different regions of the Dominican Republic. By focusing on higher leaf primings, the cigar develops an exceptionally rich, velvety flavor profile—inspired by the maturation process of Dominican amber.
Flavor profile:
1st Third: A rich opening featuring dark chocolate, brown sugar, wood, and nuts. A subtle note of pepper emerges on the retro-hale.
2nd Third: Increased depth. Notes of oak, dried fruit, and earth blend with salted nuts and fresh citrus accents.
3rd Third: A creamy finish with leather, biscuit, and mineral nuances. Notes of bitter almond and black pepper linger on the palate.
