more product details
With the aim of producing cigars of world-class quality, the then 18-year-old Eduardo León Jimenes, son of a tobacco farmer, founded the La Aurora cigar factory in 1903. The company is still owned by the founding family today. This makes La Aurora, according to its own statements, the oldest cigar brand in the Dominican Republic.
La Aurora grew continuously and in 1914 was the first cigar manufacturer to introduce a belly band to guarantee the authenticity of its cigars. The characteristic reclining lion has adorned this since 1926.
In the 1950s, Fernando León Asensio took over the helm and continued to expand the business. With the arrival of Guillermo León in the 1980s, the brand gained international fame.
La Aurora is now part of the León Jimenes company and is one of the largest and most important cigar brands in the Dominican Republic. The brand stands for quality and tradition and offers a wide range of cigars for every taste.
In 2010, to mark the 107th anniversary of the company, La Aurora launched the "Tobaccos of the World Collection" on a world tour through well-known growing countries and dedicated itself to their special properties. The journey began with the Puros from the 107 Nicaragua series.
The medium to strong 107 Nicaragua Robusto has spicy, earthy aromas. There is also a balanced play of aromas of floral notes, vanilla and spice notes, salt, cocoa, wood and leather. The Nicaraguan Puro can be enjoyed for around an hour.
