The short smoke of the León Jimenes Petit Corona Caribbean is accompanied by a spicy, soft rum note.
more product details
León Jimenes is backed by over 100 years of family tradition and one of the oldest factories in the Dominican Republic. In 1903, Eduardo León Jimenes, then 18 years old and the son of a tobacco farmer, founded the La Aurora cigar factory. The company remains owned by the founding family to this day. La Aurora claims to be the oldest cigar brand in the Dominican Republic.
As a tribute to its founder, León Jimenes was introduced as a brand in 1987, characterized by a smooth tobacco blend and encased in light Connecticut wrappers.
The small Corona format from León Jimenes consists of Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos in the filler, a binder from Brazil and a light-coloured Sumatra Ecuador wrapper. A sweetened mouthpiece was added. The subtly spicy aroma of rum remains throughout the smoke and harmonises with nuances of cedar wood and leather. The draw behaviour of the long filler is medium firm and the burn is even and straight. The cigars are made entirely by hand in the Tabacalera La Aurora, i.e. Totalmente a Mano, but with a torn filler, which is the official name for the production method in Cuba.
