PDR - Pinar del Rio, that's the name of a province in western Cuba. However, the tobacco for the cigars does not come from the famous growing region in Cuba, but the seeds do. The brand's cigars are made in the Tabacalera in Tamborli, not far from Santiago de los Caballeros in the Dominican Republic.
Abraham "Abe" Flores, a native of New York, spent his youth with his grandfather, who was a tobacco farmer in the Dominican Republic. Back in the United States, he studied marketing. But he returned to tobacco via a detour. The job search took him to the marketing department of a cigar retailer, where he managed the online shop. There he made contacts with cigar manufacturers. After a few years, the opportunity arose to take over a small Tabacalera. In Tamborli, he started the Tabacalera PDR Cigars in 2004.
The AFR series, Abraham Flores Rosario, by PDR is produced exclusively for the German importer Kopp Tobacco and will be delivered for the first time in summer 2024. The master blender himself is responsible for the design of the boxes. Firecracker is a smooth, compact long filler from the Dominican Republic, whose extended pigtail makes the cigar look like a firework. The silky Connecticut wrapper from Ecuador exudes sweet aromas, creamy nuances and a light spiciness accompany the smoke.
