Ashton was founded in 1983 by Bill Ashton-Taylor and R. D. Field. Initially the portfolio included only pipes, later cigars and also pipe tobacco.
In 1985, Robert Levin coined the name of the premium manufacturer when he launched the first Ashton cigar on the market. With VSG (Virgin Sun Grown) in 1999, he brought out the first cigar with a full-bodied and medium-bodied composition, which was groundbreaking for the industry. The business cooperation with the Fuente family is largely responsible for the success of Ashton cigars. These are still rolled by hand in the Fuente factory today.
For the brands „La Aroma del Caribe“ and „Paradiso“, Levin brought another big name into the collaboration, the Garcia family.
The Paradiso brand cigars come from Nicaragua and are all long fillers. They are decorated with a distinctive banderole, on which is the parrot that is often found in Nicaragua.
