Peterson Pipe Of The Year 2026 rustic

By the time of their birth, the brothers Friedrich and Heinrich Kapp from Nuremburg, who's elegant tobacco shop in the 1865 opened on Grafton Street in Dublin, never dreamt that they would become part of a legend.

Friedrich & Heinrich, who called their business “Kapp Brothers” quickly build up a reputation for their self made and sold high quality meerschaum and briar pipes. It wasn't long before Charles Peterson stepped into their shop – with a revolutionary pipe and ambitious plans for the future to come.

It was that day, he proposed a partnership with the brothers to make his dream of this pipe come true.

They came to an agreement and the company's name was changed to Kapp & Peterson. Kapp and Peterson were on a straight path to become Dublin's trendiest and most renowned manufacturer and supplier of fine tobacco products. Pipe smokers as cigar smokers alike went onto their premises for a professional consultation about fine nuances in a well made cigar or pipe. The brand Peterson became highly regarded by politicians, companies, athletes, artist and authors from all walks of life.

Product information "Peterson Pipe Of The Year 2026 rustic"

The Peterson Pipe of the Year 2026 revives one of the most distinctive and characterful shapes in the brand's long history: The Lge. Cad Squat Bulldog (Shape #493). First appearing in early iterations around 1896 and reaching its zenith in the 1947 catalogue, the "Squat Cad" breaks traditional Bulldog conventions. Broad, low-slung, and distinctly horizontal, it offers a confident, compact stance.

The impetus for this release comes directly from Peterson's Managing Director, Glen Whelan, who brought his late grandfather’s well-loved 493 model into the workshop as the blueprint. Paired with a sleek tapered vulcanite stem and Peterson's patented P-Lip mouthpiece, smoke is directed upward toward the palate for an enhanced tasting experience.

A broad sterling silver band complements the bowl and marks this piece as a true collector's item. Strictly limited to just 1,100 pieces worldwide, each pipe is individually serially numbered and stamped “Made in Ireland”. The pipe comes with a custom sleeve crafted from authentic 100% Irish tweed, woven on traditional looms by the renowned Kerry Woollen Mills in County Kerry (est. 1760).
