Rattray's looks back on a long history. It was in 1911 when Charles Rattray, a trained pipe tobacco blender, fulfilled his dream of owning his own pipe shop in Perth, Scotland. Today, the brand with Celtic roots is known for its pipes bearing the Triskele logo and pipe tobaccos, mostly made with traditional Scottish blends.
The Devil's Cut pipe combines traditional craftsmanship with state-of-the-art technology. Designed in the style of a whisky barrel, it even features typical copper bands. It is thick-walled and stands upright on its own. Its innovative Reverse Calabash System cools, dries, and filters the smoke through a special vortex chamber. For even greater filtration, a 9 mm filter can be added, resulting in an exceptional smoking experience in a compact form. The G variant of the Devil's Cut stands out due to its graphite insert in the pipe bowl. This German-made material is fireproof, heats up and cools down slowly, reduces moisture buildup, is flavor-neutral, and easy to clean. A charcoal crust is neither necessary nor possible, and the tobacco can be changed without any flavor transfer. The Straight Poker-shaped pipe with a natural finish has a 9 mm bore plus the Reverse Calabash System, an acrylic mouthpiece, and is made of ash.
