Rattray's looks back on a long history. It was in 1911 when Charles Rattray, a trained pipe tobacco blender, fulfilled his dream of owning his own pipe shop in Perth, Scotland. Today, the brand with Celtic roots is known for its pipes bearing the Triskele logo and pipe tobaccos, mostly made with traditional Scottish blends.
A truly special piece: The Rattray's Glory Day is a sitter pipe in the Poker shape. An aluminum plate featuring a laser-engraved Celtic cross is attached to the base of the bowl.
This pipe features a graphite insert in the tobacco chamber. It is heat-resistant and neutral in taste. Minimal moisture forms during smoking, and different tobaccos can be smoked in succession without flavors mingling ("ghosting"). There is no need to break in the pipe, and burnout is impossible. In addition to easy cleaning, the graphite's slow heating and cooling properties enhance the enjoyment of pipe tobacco.
