Rattray's looks back on a long history. It was in 1911 when Charles Rattray, a trained pipe tobacco blender, fulfilled his dream of owning his own pipe shop in Perth, Scotland. Today, the brand with Celtic roots is known for its pipes bearing the Triskele logo and pipe tobaccos, mostly made with traditional Scottish blends.
Full-bodied pipe tobacco with a subtle sweetness. The tobacco consists of dark sweet Virginia, Kentucky, that was dried over fire, as well as a bit of spicy Perique, that was pressed into a flake and then rubbed by hand. The tobacco can be tampered excellently due to this and has got equally fine smoking traits, as well as a slow burn.

Guter Virginia
Sicherlich einer der ganz Grossen aus der Familie der englischen Ready Rubbed Virginia Tabake ohne Latakia, die man mal probiert haben sollte. Mit etwas Phantasie hört man Pferde im Stall wiehern und wird für eine Stunde zum Stallknecht, Gutsverwalter oder Lord (wir wollen es jetzt aber lieber nicht übertreiben !). Empfehlenswert ! Geruch: säuerlich, Schwarzbrot, Dörrobst, Gemüsebrühe. Konsistenz: etwas zu feucht. Geschmack: leicht bis mittelstark, angenehm und ganz dezent rauchig, leicht süsslich-salzig, "brotig", "suppig", guter und sehr befriedigender Smoke.
