Stanwell is experiencing a triumphant rebirth! The European rights to this legendary Danish brand—long distributed by the Scandinavian Tobacco Group—have been acquired by Kopp Pipes. Founded in 1946 by Poul Nielsen, Stanwell revolutionized the industry by creating the world-famous "Danish Design"—a tradition that is now returning to specialist retailers, featuring original tooling, classic shapes, and modern 9mm filter technology.
Few finishes are as closely linked to Stanwell’s identity as the partially sandblasted look of the Vario line.
What makes every Stanwell Vario unique is the seamless transition between two contrasting surface textures: a red-and-black sandblasted section of the bowl meets an area with a smooth, reddish, polished finish. Because the briar wood reacts individually to the sandblasting process, the boundary between the rough texture and the smooth surface varies slightly from pipe to pipe—making every Vario a truly unique piece.
Staying true to the legacy of company founder Poul Nielsen, the series combines iconic "Danish Pipe Design" shapes with exceptional suitability for everyday use.
