Thorsten Feitt, who was born in Saarland, has been living and working in Ostallgäu (Bavaria) since 2011.
As a carpenter's apprentice and enthusiastic Lord of the Rings fan, the first attempts were made in the early 2000s to replicate the churchwarden pipes of Gandalf, Bilbo and Co. What was lost over the years was then revived and so in 2017 the pipe manufacturer Thorsten Feitt was founded. Building pipes is his passion and he loves the challenge of implementing new ideas.
This pipe has the structure of an old German hunting pipe. Instead of porcelain, however, high-quality briar is used. The lower intermediate piece is also made of briar and has a 9mm tenon. This means that you could even insert 2 filters. The upright piece is a hazel branch, which makes up the main part of the classic look. A plastic tube is inserted into this piece for better cleaning, durability and for hygienic reasons. Finally, the end piece is made of horn. The whole pipe can be dismantled into 4 parts.
The comfortable pipe has a large filling volume and is suitable for long evenings in nature or at home.
