As a global giant in pipe tobacco culture, Mac Baren has stood for top-tier Danish quality, rich heritage, and blending perfection for generations. Distributed in over 80 countries, Mac Baren joined the Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG) in June 2024, securing the future of iconic recipes like Mixture Scottish Blend, 7 Seas, and the legendary HH Series.
The Golden Blend is a little masterpiece of Mac Baren. Virginia from Brazil and Burley from Malawi have been pressed and rubbed again for the smoker after drying – so this is a “ready rubbed”. Both types of tobaccos make for a pleasant balance of the strawy sweetness of the Virginia and the dark nuttiness of the Burley. The aromatization is hardly noticeable.

Nothing special
I bought the tin with high expectations, only to be left very disappointed. Don't get me wrong, there are far worse blends than this one, but also there are waaaay better ones. Also, I feel some kind of metal-ish taste (!?) while smoking it. It's not good, but it's not that bad. My personal rating - MEH.
