more product details
Founded in 1825, the traditional company Chapuis Comoy is the oldest existing pipe manufacturer in the world. Nestled in the mountainous and rugged landscape of the French Jura lies the pipe-making mecca of Saint-Claude, where pipes were first crafted from the burl wood of the Erica arborea, better known as briar.
The company's owner, Antoine Grenard, is a trained industrial designer and a direct descendant of the founding Comoy family, who also established a branch in London (Comoy of London). In addition to a wide variety of wonderful antique models, the product range also includes modern creations.
"What should I buy as a beginner pipe smoker? What do I need?" This is usually the first question asked when someone decides to try pipe smoking. Here's the solution: This set includes a beginner-friendly briar pipe in a chic French style. Your journey can only get off to a good start. It was handcrafted in France at the Chacom manufactory. Briar wood has been the first choice for pipe making for decades – a burl wood with perfect properties for use in pipes. Chacom is the oldest pipe manufacturer still in operation in the world. The pipe comes in a blue and white striped fabric pouch. The set also includes a practical 3-piece pipe tool set and matches. Everything is packaged in a box in the blue striped "The French Pipe" style.
