Tradition and Innovation in the Fourth Generation
The success story began in 1919 when master leather craftsman Martin Wess laid the foundation for the family business. Over the decades, the company evolved from a leather goods manufacturer of cigar cases and watch cases into one of the most important players in the tobacco market.
After its reconstruction by Frederike Wess following 1945, Bernd Kopp transformed the company starting in 1958. He recognized the potential of pipe accessories and, through strategic mergers (including Kohlhase & Kopp) and the acquisition of exclusive distribution rights for brands such as Ashton and Arturo Fuente, laid the foundation for today's success.
Since the beginning of 2023, Oliver and Thilo Kopp have been managing the business as sole owners under the name Kopp Tobaccos. With a team of over 65 employees, expanded logistics capacities and a portfolio of global brands (e.g. My Father, Tatuaje) as well as strong proprietary brands such as Rattray’s, the company stands for sustainable growth and passion for premium tobacco products.
A fruity summer tobacco that was produced in small quantities. The Stormy South contains golden Virginia, nutty Burley and lots of Black Cavendish.
This combination is surrounded by the aroma of fruity passion fruit, ripe, sweet mango and a hint of lilac.
