The family-owned company Altinay is now managed by the third generation. It all began in 1964, when Necdet Altinay founded his pipe workshop in Eskişehir, Turkey. His son Nedim and grandson Said were trained by the master craftsman and initiated into the secrets of meerschaum carving. Over time, the business grew. Their commitment to high quality paid off, and today Altinay exports its pipes worldwide. Altinay has produced meerschaum pipes for well-known brands such as Andreas Bauer, Rattray's, Dunhill, Peterson, Savinelli, Chacom, Brebbia, and Butz-Choquin. Today, Altinay is one of the best-known and most renowned manufacturers of meerschaum pipes.
