ELDURIS Vidar is a mild mixture of Virginia, Burley and Black Cavendish with the subtle fruity aroma of wild berries. To support a cool smoking experience the Vidar is composed of both Ready Rubbed and Cube parts.

Even though Vidar is generally friendly and quiet, he is still one of the mightiest Asen. When Ragnarök comes – the fall of the gods – he will play an important part. Sanft und aromatisch mit einer subtilen Latakia Note

Der Asgard ist für mich ein sanfter all day Smoke. Als naturbelassener Tabak behält er seine Aromatik über die gesamte Pfeifenfüllung. Mit seiner milden Würze ist er auch früh morgens eine gute Wahl.
Ich könnte mir vorstellen, das der Asgard auch für Einsteiger eine Empfehlung sein könnte, vorausgesetzt der Beginner ist nicht über Vanille-Noten zur Pfeife gelockt worden und erwartet entsprechende Geschmacksnuancen.

Der Tabak lässt sich leicht stopfen und ist gleich aus der frisch geöffneten Dose rauchfertig.

Ein in vielerlei Hinsicht zurückhaltender Tabak.

Der Tabak wirkt für mich als Gesamtkomposition. Trotzdem kann man die einzelnen Komponenten ausmachen; Eine leichte Nussigkeit vom Burley, gefolgt von einer leichten Virginia-Süße mit ein paar würzigen Anklängen - vor allem im Rauchgeruch - eingebettet auf einem sanften Raucharoma.
Die Verwendung zurückhaltender Beschreibungen ist dabei nicht zufällig, da der Tabak kein geschmackliches Schwergewicht ist. Er deckt eine recht breite Geschmackspalette ab, ohne bei einer wirklich aus der Reihe zu tanzen. Für mich ist er geschmacklich zu mild.
Nichtsdestotrotz verhält er sich gut im Rauchverhalten, da er gutmütig und fein abbrennt.
Im Raum übrig bleibt eine fein-kräuterige, rauchige Note, die im Entfernten ein wenig an kalten Weihrauch erinnert.

Der "Asgard" kommt fast rauchfertig mit vielen Ribbon-Cuts und ein paar Coarse-Cut-Stücken daher und riecht nach Barbequesauce; Leicht süß, leicht sauer und leicht rauchig. Von der Stärke her würde ich der Beschreibung von 3 von 5 Punkten widersprechen und ihn als mild mit 2 von 5 Punkten einstufen. Ein sanfter All-Day-Smoke.

Der Tabak hat gewisse Anklänge an den "Oriental" von Robert McConnell. Fans davon könnten sich mit diesem hier wohl anfreunden, obwohl die Orientals beim "Asgard" nicht so sehr im Vordergrund stehen.

Alles in allem ein prinzipiell guter, aber sehr sanfter Tabak - in vielerlei Hinsicht. Ist aber ein Probieren wert, wenn man sich langsam in die Welt der Oriental-Mischungen begeben möchte.

ich komme von den Zigaretten, habe erst jetzt mit Pfeife angefangen und bereue tatsächlich, nicht schon früher damit begonnen zu haben.
An Zigaretten habe ich bevorzugt Camel geraucht, aber auch Drehtabake wie "Schwarzer Krauser" haben mir geschmeckt - letzterer war mir aber auf Dauer zu stark - habe mir zwischendurch einen Pouch davon geholt, geraucht und wollte mir keinen mehr kaufen. Nach einer Wenn ich den würzigen Geschmack vermisst habe, musste aber wieder mal 'n Päckchen her....

Ich schreibe dies, um meine sehr gute Bewertung (5 Sterne) für diesen Tabak besser einordnen zu können.

Für Camel-Zigaretten werden ebenfalls Virginia, Burley und Oriental-Tabake verwendet. Vielleicht hat dieser Asgard mich deshalb auch so von sich eingenommen.
Ich habe erst 4 Pfeifenköpfe davon geraucht.
Er schmeckt mir aber von Mal zu Mal besser. Eine Steigerung ist deshalb vorhanden, weil ich erst in der Praxis lernen muss(te), wie man eine Pfeife richtig stopft.
Das hat zwar dank Youtube-Videos sehr gut geklappt, aber bei den ersten Füllungen ist man dann doch etwas unsicher/ vorsichtiger.
Meine 4. Füllung hat jetzt ca. 45 Minuten in der Pfeife geschmaucht und hat mir hervorragend geschmeckt.

Der Tabak hinterlässt ein intensiveres rauchiges Gefühl im Mundraum, als ich es von Zigaretten gewöhnt bin.
Allerdings ist dieser Tabak lt. Beschreibung wohl auch ein mittelkräftiger (Stärke 3 von 5). Das rauchige Mundgefühl dürfte wohl vom dichteren, voluminöseren Pfeifenrauch (im Vergleich zum Zigarettenrauch) her rühren und wird von mir als angenehm empfunden. Ich vergleiche das in etwa mit dem Konsum, bzw. dem "Abgang" einer selbst gedrehten "Schwarzer Krauser"-Zigarette, geraucht mit einem 6-mm-Filter.
Stärker dürfte der Asgard, bzw. der Tabak für mich tatsächlich nicht sein.
Werde das nächste Mal einen Tabak mit Stärke 2 probieren, um den Unterschied zu schmecken.
Ich könnte die Aromen jetzt (noch) nicht selbst beschreiben, empfinde die Beschreibung des Pfeifen-Shops allerdings als stimmig (z.B. "nussig", leicht rauchiger Hintergrund)

Für mich als Pfeifen-Anfänger mit o.g. Zigarettenhintergrund, ein guter Einstiegstabak.
Meine neue Pfeife muss ja auch erst eingeraucht werden. Hierzu habe ich bewusst, keinen Aromaten ausgewählt, sondern einen naturnahen Tabak.

Der Tabak sollte definitiv als aromatisiert beschrieben werden. Wer hier einen naturnahen Tabak erwartet wird nach dem öffnen der Dose enttäuscht. Der Tabak weist eine ziemlich starke Aromatisierung auf (Schoko?)
ABER: Es handelt sich um einen der wenigen Tabake bei denen Tabak (was ja oft gänzlich fehlt) und (gutes) Aroma prima harmonieren. In diesem Sinne ist er also top...

Ich bin gänzlich anderer Meinung, als sämtliche vorherigen Rezensenten... Der Geruch, der beim Öffnen freigesett wird ist so markant, dass er auch während des Rauchens in der Nase bleibt. Aber auch beim Rauchen selber, ist die Aromatisierung dermaßen stark (und subjekiv empfunden: fies), dass ich die Pfeife ab der Hälfte nicht weiterrauchen mochte. Ein Versuch war es wert, aber ich kann mich meinen Vorredner dennoch in keinster Weise anschließen.... Habe also einen Tabak zu verschenken... :)

So viel Lob bei den Bewertungen.
Und das zu recht.

Riecht wie beschrieben und schmeckt lecker nussig.
Brennt klasse ab.
Hab die erste Füllung zusammengeraucht bis nur noch Asche im Pfeifenkopf war. Gelingt mir auch nicht oft...
Hier war es aber möglich weil
a) der Tabak auch zum Schluß hin noch gut schmeckt und
b) die Tabakqualität das zulässt.

Der Tabak ist bei Lieferung gut feucht (ist auch richtig so), daher sollte man ihn vor dem ersten Genuss etwas trocknen lassen.
