White Elephant is known as a solid manufacturer of pipe filters and pipe cleaners from Ettenstatt, Franconia, founded by Robert Maderholz. In Germany, White Elephant is the sole producer of pipe cleaners. There are only 3 manufacturers in all of Europe.
However, the company's roots lie in pipe making. Robert Maderholz produced pipes from 1945 to 1984. Later they specialized in filters and over the years also in cleaners.
With the help of the Kopp company, pipes were added to the range again and, in 2023, pipe tobacco.
The highlight of this model is the graphite insert. This is fireproof, tasteless and produces little moisture. It also heats up slowly and cools down slowly.
The pipe itself is made of Central American ash wood.
