White Elephant is known as a solid manufacturer of pipe filters and pipe cleaners from Ettenstatt, Franconia, founded by Robert Maderholz. In Germany, White Elephant is the sole producer of pipe cleaners. There are only 3 manufacturers in all of Europe.
However, the company's roots lie in pipe making. Robert Maderholz produced pipes from 1945 to 1984. Later they specialized in filters and over the years also in cleaners.
With the help of the Kopp company, pipes were added to the range again and, in 2023, pipe tobacco.
Ebony & Ivory - not only a world-famous hit but also the expression for ebony and ivory. The contrast between black and white is therefore the most striking feature of this pipe. The ball embedded in the mouthpiece is also interesting.
