White Elephant Pipe Erta Ale 3
The Erta Ale 3 features a fireproof graphite insert. This makes it virtually impossible for the pipe to burn through.
more product details
Founded in 1945 in Ettenstatt, Franconia, by Robert Maderholz, White Elephant boasts a long tradition. As the only German manufacturer of pipe cleaners, the brand was renowned for its accessories. In collaboration with Kopp, White Elephant returned to its roots in pipe making—complemented by its own pipe tobaccos crafted from African raw tobaccos.
The pipe is named after a volcano in Ethiopia. At its center lies an active lava lake; the surrounding area is gray, rocky, and resembles a lunar landscape.
The Erta Ale features a graphite insert. This insert is fireproof, flavorless, and produces little moisture. It also heats up and cools down slowly. The insert is easy to clean, and no break-in period is necessary.
The pipe itself is made of Central American ash wood with a matching colored mouthpiece.
