Cornell & Diehl

Even if Cornell & Diehl was only founded in 1992, the name is on everyone's lips internationally and after a long time it is finally available in Germany.

Back then, Craig and Patty Tarler bought what was left of an old tobacco factory, loaded it onto the van and started with a few pounds of tobacco, some recipes and a handful of flavors.

Today the tobacco is distributed for example throughout the USA, Canada, Malaysia, Spain and also in Germany.

The origin story of Cornell & Diehl sounds like a classic American dream. In 1992, Craig and Patty Tarler purchased the remaining equipment of a historic tobacco company, packed everything onto a pickup truck, and started their venture with just a few bags of raw leaf, a handful of traditional recipes, and a passion for fine tobacco craftsmanship. What began as a humble kitchen-table operation rapidly grew into a world-renowned boutique manufacturer based in South Carolina. Today, Cornell & Diehl tobaccos are prized by connoisseurs across the USA, Canada, Malaysia, Spain, and now Germany. The brand is celebrated for its commitment to uncompromised boutique production methods: using top-tier raw leaf with zero artificial additives, hand-blending in small batches, and utilizing rare components like high-grade Louisiana Perique, Dark Fired Kentucky, Carolina Red Virginia, and premium Latakia. From legendary boutique Latakia powerhouses like Night Train and Pirate Kake to natural Virginia/Perique Flakes and rich Burley mixtures, C&D offers an unmatched diversity of bold, authentic flavor profiles. Cornell & Diehl represents the gold standard of modern American hand-blended pipe tobaccos—honest, complex, and unrefined in the best possible way.
