Charatan is one of the oldest pipe brands in the world. Founded in London in 1863, at the beginning mostly meerschaum pipes were produced. The breakthrough came with the switch to briar. Charatan was family owned until 1960 and was then sold to Dunhill.

In 2017, the Scottish importer and distributor "Tor Imports" was able to purchase Charatan to restore the name to its former glory.

With this limited tobacco, a successful blend has succeeded as a re-entry. Golden-brown, nutty Burley, sweet Virginia and Black Cavendish combine to create a smooth and creamy experience with notes of vanilla. The aroma is not exaggerated in the foreground, but harmoniously woven into the tobacco taste.
