Die Tsuge Pfeifen blicken bereits auf eine lange Geschichte zurück. Der Firmengründer und Pfeifenbauer Kyoichiro Tsuge gründete 1936 sein Geschäft. Unterbrochen vom zweiten Weltkrieg setzte er 1945 seine Produktion fort. Im laufe der Jahrzehnte und viel Engagement hat sich Tsuge zu einer renommierten Pfeifenmanufaktur mit japanischem Charme und höchster Qualität entwickelt. Heute befindet sich der Firmensitz in Tokio.

Very good pipe
In short: very good pipe, and I recommend it for buying. I gave it 4 stars only because of the price: it could be a bit cheaper. The details are below. This pipe is very tiny, much smaller than it looks at the photo here. But this is actually a plus, and also the reason I bought it, because this pipe is just excellent for short smoking breaks, and will be especially appretiated by the cigarette smokers who wish to transit to pipe smoking. It tastes great, the smoke is quite cool and dry, though it requires a bit of practice as with other pipes. It dries quite fast and can be smoked at least 2 times a day. The engineering is interesting: tobacco burns in the aluminium bowl, but the smoke then goes to the inner small briar chamber below, so you have the taste of briar here, not just tobacco. By that reason the pipe can not be smoked too often during a day and needs some rest, though it rests fast, as I said already. Cleaning is easy enough. The pipe disassembles in a fast and simple way. What a like most in this and similar pipes is the absence of the dirtiest wooden part which is most difficult and time consuming to clean - the wooden part of the shank connecting to the bowl, as it is in the traditional pipes. So, you can save a lot of time on cleaning here and enjoy fresh shank/stem without tar scent every smoke, because in this pipe you can just unscrew the shank from the bowl and clean it easily with anything you like, be it traditional pipe cleaner or water with a soap. Finally, you can't burn this pipe (the bowl insert is metal), so you can smoke it on the go without any control of how it burns. By this reason it is also good for beginners. Last thing. You can also have longer smokes of at least 15-20 mins with this pipe by using tight tobacco pacikng into the bowl and/or flakes. Important: when you pack tobacco tight into the bowl, the draw becomes very weak or just dissapears. The tip: pack tobacco into the metal bowl unscrewed from the briar base, and then just make a hole with a needle of the pipe tool from the bottom to the surface in the center, and then install it to the base. You'll have perfect draw. Wish everybody good luck and tasty, cool and dry smoke!
