Rattray's blickt mittlerweile auf eine lange Geschichte zurück. Es war im Jahre 1911 als sich Charles Rattray, gelernter Pfeifentabakmischer, seinen Traum vom eigenen Pfeifengeschäft in Perth, Schottland erfüllte. Heute ist die Marke mit keltischen Wurzeln bekannt für seine Pfeifen mit dem Triskele Logo und den Pfeifentabaken mit meist traditionellen schottischen Mischungen.
Die Distel ist das Nationalsymbol der Schotten. Angeblich soll der nächtliche Überfall der Wikinger auf Schottland vereitelt worden sein, weil ein Eindringling mit nacktem Fuß auf eine Distel getreten sei. Der Aufschrei warnte rechtzeitig die schottischen Krieger.

Wonderful elegance and performance
I was completely suprised when I received this nice, finely crafted elegant and beautifully shaped pipe. Already on the photo it looked perfectly, but holding it in hand... - Wow!! Firstly I wouldn't like to smoke it... Then, after a couple of days I finally lit it and it worked like a charm! This one is really elegant, fits nicely in the hand, it is a bit heavy (not a good clencher) and it smokes so nice... Always a great day when smoking this pipe!
